FLINT HOUSING COMMISSION

CONVENTIONAL PUBLIC HOUSING PROGRAM

The Flint Housing Commission owns 1248 Conventional Public Housing Units, which includes 133 scattered sites throughout the City of Flint.

What is Public Housing?

Public Housing is a subsidized housing program funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which allows seniors, disabled persons and families to live independently in affordable housing.  The Flint Housing Commission uses income limits developed by HUD, which lower income limits are at 80% and very low income limits are at 50% of the median income for the area.  Rent is based on 30% of all income received, which some income may be excluded.  Our Public Housing Program offers a variety of Resident Services and we aim to assist and encourage families and residents to become self-sufficient.

How Do I Apply?

If you are interested in applying for public housing, you may fill out an application at the Flint Housing Commission's Central Office located at 3820 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48507 or call (810) 736-3050 Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
